Loosing sleep...

Things I've done tonight while I can't sleep:

Watch recorded episode of Bones - Cole can't stand it that Bones and Booth are together now and while it's what I thought I wanted all along, I don't know if I do like the show this way.

Stress over my not decorated home. Home decor in my own house, frustrates me. I read design blogs and magazines all the time, eating it up. However, the task of creating that feeling of "our home" design eats me! This isn't the first time I've lost sleep over my front room or Vince's half done nursery.

Catch up on others' facebook/blog updates. This lead me to thinking I need to do some more girl time with the sisters. As quickly as time passes, I'm going to have to send an evite to make sure a girls night happens stat!

Read something on Lds.org - tonight was a particularly impressive address given by Ezra Taft Benson on the Book of Mormon. I don't mean impressive wow, I mean impressive, leaving a deep impression - one that kept me up thinking some more.

I should be exhausted. I know I will be tomorrow, which is sad because tomorrow is looking to be a full fun Saturday. I like full days. I like being tired. (Except for maybe while I'm at work or if I'm sick.) I think that's why one of my best friend's Sarah Fowler and I get along so well - miss her.

A parting photo to hopefully send me off to sweet dreams...

Who'da thought?

Shortly after my last post, Cole and I discovered we had a new family member on the way. I would never had guessed the next year would pan out the way it has, and such a huge surprise of a blessing. Last fall several doctors told me that for us to have a baby it would take considerable intervention. With that kind of road map we tabled the idea of babies and took on some new "us" adventures learning how to scuba dive and heading to the Big Island with some favorite friendly people.

Coming home though, that red-eye return flight with then a multiple hour lay over just did me in. I felt so crumby for the next 24 hours and when I couldn't make it through my first shift of work I stopped at Harmon's on my way home and grabbed a pregnancy test. Nine months later we are thrilled, absolutely thrilled to welcome and announce the newest Schutjer, Vincent Cole. Born May 28, 2011 @ 10:07am weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and 19 inches long, needless to say Cole and I are both smitten. And now for an over abundance of photos of our newest love.

Brought to you by Earth, Wind, & Fire

SEPTEMBER...
(great song, a favorite of Cole and mine, check it out)
While I do suffer from end of summer anxiety, thinking of cold winters, September provides the perfect antidote with its 70 degree weather. The weather alone makes football games worth attending. I have mixed feelings about this season of college football. I love attending my alma mater's home games in Cougar stadium but when it's so beautiful out I don't know if I can give up my entire Saturday to make that hajj to mecca.

Note Mecca is not Provo, but rather LaVell Edwards Stadium - but if you do venture down to P-town I highly recommend making the stop for a J Dawg. Special sauce, a few onions, and spicy mustard on a polish dawg - yum!

In case you can't make it down to LaVell Stadium, or any other sports arena please drop on by the Connor Street Casa. We have a room dedicated to viewing College Sports, and as the season approaches, the NBA. Consider this an official invite to come on over for any game!

Shameless

Went to Las Vegas last weekend and saw this guy do what he does best. I almost thought it a joke when this dapper cowboy came out on stage in a hoodie, ball cap, and jeans but by the end... if you "didn't love him going in, [you] loved him going out." His concert made me remember why I love good concerts. We sat with the Hansen's and Haili and I could not stop laughing over how each of our husband's were completely entranced. Tonight, I raise my glass to Garth Brooks, thank you for a fabulous evening!

3 Degrees

Came home from work tonight and just as I was about to walk through the garage door into the house, I realized something: My breath has a shadow. What?! It's one thing to see one's breath but to see it's shadow? You know KSL weather isn't lying when they say it's three degrees outside.

Salute to my co-workers...

...who have all been doing this a great deal longer than me.
